Nice Try, The Handsome Devil

A few weeks ago I tweeted Pete Holmes. Pete Holmes is the funniest stand-up comic working right now, and I wanted desperately to attend the live taping of his podcast, You Made it Weird at the Moontower Comedy Festival here in Austin. The tweet was the first tweet I’d ever sent, literally–and Pete replied! He simply added me to “the list” and threw in a plus-one. I offered the extra ticket to Frank, who’s in JTS Brown with me and a self-admitted Weirdo. We got second-row seats, reserved for superstars.

I was geeking out. I’d tweeted a celebrity and the celebrity wrote back. WHA-?!? HUH!?!? HOW’SYRUNCLE?!?

If little ole’ me can get into cool comedy shows just because I begged for it directly to the performer, it makes sense that this blog should finally join the Twitterverse, yes? Yes.

So you can now follow me on Twitter, and get updates, by following us at @yesandrewblog.

That night, the Moontower photographer snapped our picture apparently, and now they’re using us in their festival wrap-up coverage. Check out how famous we are in this article!

You hit a home run with your first-ever tweet. You should retire now.
